Vacay Recap

Last week I came in to work on Monday still on my "vacation high." Thankfully, I was allowed to work from home a half day Thursday and then all day Friday, so it was technically a short week in the office.

And now, here we are...another week, another slow, full week.

Which is why I thought this would be an appropriate time to share vacation pictures to remind me of the fun we had in Destin.

I loved sharing a week away with some of my closest friends!

We enjoyed dinners in the bay...

...and dinners on the beach.

We went to a FREE happy hour {still not sure what the catch was...totally F-R-E-E!}...

...which led to lots of dancing....

...which, now that I think about it, may have been the motive behind the free drinks...they wanted to see our moves!

All in all, I think the birthday girl - Jesse - had a wonderful time!

In fact, we ALL had a wonderful time - no oil on the beaches and no rain in the sky! Take me back!

Thankful

I am thankful for good health and positive attitudes. For compassion and laughter, love and thoughtfulness. I am thankful for hard work that makes relaxation even sweeter, and for time away that makes moments together even more special.

Despite the hurt and heartache, perhaps sometimes it takes moments like this to remind us all what we are truly grateful for.

Wedding weekend and vacation updates will be up soon, but there have been other things on my heart for the past week. Stay tuned and give thanks in your life as well.

The Master

Being that I had no 4th of July plans {unless you consider watching "Leap Year" alone plans...}, I was up bright and early on Monday for a productive day off!

Among several cute summer dresses, I also made some decorative purchases for my bedroom. Ta-da!

I love how spacious my new room is. I love that I have two full closets ~ one for pants and one for tops. I love that it has a bathroom connected, and two big windows to let in sunshine.

I love the way the curtains and the pictures I hung above my bed make the room finally look finished. I really wanted the pictures printed in that "Sephia" color, but Kinkos acted like it was impossible just to print 12x12" in black and white, so I knew that fanciness wasn't going to fly. I may try watercoloring or doing some type of wash, but there's a high chance I will mess that up trying.

I was excited about this vase-type thing I got as well. I am loving the neutral colors ~ khaki and beiges. I guess this is proof that I am my dad's daughter. Their whole darn house is earth tones.

What do you think? Any suggestions on the framed artwork?

Single Ladies

This weekend I hosted my first "house party."

The adorable Bride-to-be!

The wedding party all stayed at my house to celebrate Shannon's last night out as a single lady.

We had a fabulous dinner followed by "Better than Sex" cake, a couple drinks, presents, and inappropriate games before going out to the bars!

I hope Shan had a wonderful time {as I know I did}. I am looking forward to this Friday when all the wedding festivities officially begin {as I'm sure she is}!   =)
